Take a moment and get present with all the thoughts, feelings, and emotions that have been swirling around in your world today. The stress, the doubts, the nagging worries—sound familiar? Now, ask yourself:
“Is any of this truly mine?”
It might sound crazy. But here’s the kicker: What if 98% of what’s going on in your mind right now isn’t yours at all?
Yep, you read that right. 98%.
It might sound far-fetched, but think about it. What if you’re way more aware of the world around you than you’ve ever acknowledged?
What if the thoughts and feelings bouncing around in your head don’t actually belong to you—they’re just things you’ve picked up from everyone else around you?
Does that idea lighten up your world? Does it make things feel a little… easier?
If yes, it’s because all that mental noise wasn’t yours to begin with.
But don’t take my word for it—try it for yourself with a little challenge called:
The Who Does This Belong To?
For the next three days, every time you have a thought, feeling, or emotion, stop and ask:
“Who does this belong to?”
Here’s how it works—if your world lightens up when you ask that question, it’s not yours. And guess what? You can let it go. Just return it to sender.
Sounds simple? That’s because it is. Most of the time, we’re walking around not realizing that we are like psychic sponge bobs picking up on the thoughts, feelings and emotions of people and situations around us without even realizing it.
But when you start asking, “Who does this belong to?” you create a space for something different. You start to recognize what’s actually yours—and what’s not.
And once you realize that most of what you’re thinking and feeling isn’t yours, you can relax and choose to let it go.
I invite you to join the 3-day challenge and experience it for yourself. For the next three days, ask: “Who does this belong to?” every time a thought, feeling, or emotion pops up.
Notice how much lighter your world is when you realize that just because you think or feel it – doesn’t mean it’s yours.
